Kashmiri Haj pilgrims are accompanied by their family members as they depart for Mecca November 22, 2006. The first batch of 215 Kashmiri Haj pilgrims set off on Wednesday for the annual pilgrimage to the holiest place for Muslims. A total of 6,617 pilgrims from the troubled Kashmir region are expected to perform this year's ritual, authorities said.
