Solidarity March for the Ladies in White at Calle Ocho in Miami, FL
3/25/10
Thousands of marchers protest yesterday in Miami's Little Havana to denounce alleged abuses by the Cuban government against a prominent opposition group known as Las Damas de Blanco, or Ladies in White. The women are mothers and wives of 75 dissidents and independent journalists who were jailed across Cuba in 2003 and sentenced to prison terms. The women have marched repeatedly in Cuba in white outfits to protest the jailing. Another rally in support of the group is scheduled for Sunday in Los Angeles.
